Samuel Honyset (1725 - 1788) of Stone in Oxney
Samuel, a son of Thomas and Ann, was baptised in Stone on 28 March 1725. He may have married Elizabeth Piper in Beckley on 11 May 1752 but if so she must have died soon after and there appears to be no record of any children. Also in 1752 he was recorded as the occupier of a cottage in the 14th quarter of Winchelsea. Samuel Honeysett, 'late of Stone, now of Winchelsea', married Mary Newsam by licence in Peasmarsh on 16 November 1755. On 11 March 1757 Mary and two children, John and Katherine were removed from Winchelsea to Stone as Samuel had deserted them. However they had a further ten children baptised in Stone:

Samuel appears to have been buried, a pauper, on 12 Feb 1788. Mary was buried 'at the expense of the parish' on 7 April 1793.
Of their children:
- Mary married Jacob Fenson (of Ebony) on 5 November 1775.
- Thomas may have been the Thomas who was buried on 10 June 1781 by which date he would have been 21.
- Joseph married and lived in Stone.
