Herstmonceux, Sussex

Herstmonceux, in the heart of 'Hunnisett' Country, is an important parish for 'Hunnisett' research as members of the family have lived here for three centuries. The parish consists of a number of scattered settlements and the present village is centred on the area that used to be known as Gardner Street. The parish church is more than a mile south of the village.

The Congregational Chapel, Chapel Row

During the 19th century several Hunnisett families attended this chapel and quite a few baptisms and marriages were recorded. Although the chapel has a small burial ground only one Hunnisett burial appears in the registers and there are no MIs.
