Alfred's & Harriet's Children

Photo of Harriet and her children

Alfred Honeysett (1858-1888) was a blacksmith in Lambeth. He and his wife Harriet had five children but two are believed to have died young. In the photograph Harriet is seated and her eldest son, Thomas, is also seated. Standing, centrally, is her other son, John. Alfred's only daughter was Harriet, one of the young ladies standing. Some years after Alfred died Harriet had another daughter, Bessie. She married Sydney Newton, the young man standing at the right. Harriet's second marriage was to Albert Harvey by whom she had a further daughter, Dorothy, in 1901. She is the girl sitting at the front.

Their son Thomas married Emily Waite in 1911 and she is the tall lady behind Harriet. Thomas and Emily emigrated to the United States in 1912 so this photograph was probably shortly before that.

The photograph was supplied by Tom Honeysett, a grandson of Thomas.
