Joseph Honyset (1763 - 1797)
of Stone in Oxney
Joseph, a son of Samuel and Mary, was baptised in Stone on 30 June 1763. He married Elizabeth Tolhust in Newchurch on 8 August 1785. Described as paupers in the Stone parish registers, they had five daughters baptised in Stone:
| Lydia | 25 Feb 1787 | |
| Jemima | 26 May 1789 | bur 17 Nov 1789 |
| Caroline | 30 Dec 1792 | |
| Rachel | 19 Nov 1795 | bur 4 Dec 1795 |
| Mary | 7 Oct 1798 |
Mary was never to see her father as Joseph was buried on 6 November 1797. Presumably she was several months old when baptised as the baptismal record specifically names Joseph as the father. Elizabeth subsequently remarried in 1803 to Thomas Springett.
Of their children:
- Caroline married Richard Seager/Seeker in Smarden on 9 August 1814 and lived in Staplehurst.
- Mary may have had an illegitimate son Joseph baptised on 27 May 1818.
